Zumba with Petra Bonich

 Zumba® - Classes  Great DUNMOW

 What is ZUMBA?

Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow Zumba participants to dance away their worries. Zumba incorporates the dances of Salsa, Mambo, Cha-cha, Cumbia, Samba, Flamenco, Merengue, Reggaeton, Belly dancing and others. It is based on the principle that a workout should be "FUN AND EASY TO DO" allowing Zumba participants to stick to the Zumba Fitness program and achieve long-term health benefits.  Zumba is a “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind. And you can be as noisy as you like during my Zumba classes, so let your hair down and come and have some FUN with me!

WELCOME!

My name is  Petra BONICH and I am a Zumba Basic 1, Zumba Basic 2 (advanced), Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold (older generation), Zumba Sentao (with chairs-amazing!) ZumbAtomic (for children) and Aqua Zumba instructor. I`ve always been interested in dancing and already as a teenager I was a member of a very successful Latin American and Ballroom Dancing Team in the Czech Republic. In 1992 I came to England and have been here ever since. I am a mum to 3 gorgeous children and have a fabulous husband who supports me with my Zumba.

I found Zumba in 2009 and have been a fan ever since. I passed my course in London in May 2010 and became so ZUMBA-hooked that I decided to join thousands of other instructors from all over the world at the Orlando Zumba Instructor Convention in Florida in August 2010, 2011 and 2012. There I passed more courses in Aqua Zumba (Zumba in water),  ZumbAtomic® which is aimed at children, Zumba basic 2 (advanced Zumba) , Zumba Toning ( using toning sticks-dumbells), in Zumba Sentao (Zumba with and around chairs..so much fun!) and Zumba Gold (for the senior generation). I love sharing my newly acquired skills with all my Zumba fans. I just love ZUMBA! Come and see me in my class, you will love Zumba too.

This is a video of me and my friend Tereza Zalesakova dancing to our joint new choreography.

Tips and information for class participants:

There is no need for a partner in a Zumba class. All you need  is

a bottle of water, a towel and some comfortable trainers. Classes

are £5, pay on the door. Just turn up, there is no need to

pre-book! I also have a special offer of 12 classes for the price of

10 (£50). So why not give it a go? If my class is not the one for

you, I`ll give you your money back!

  • Come to class prepared to SWEAT!  Bring a towel and a bottle of water
  • You do not need to have previous dance experience in order to take a Zumba® class!  As long as you are moving, you are doing Zumba® correctly!  It is important to remember that this is a FITNESS class and the dance moves and choreography will come eventually.  As long as you keep moving, you will benefit from taking Zumba® Fitness!!!
  • Have fun!  The best thing about Zumba® fitness is that it doesn't FEEL like you are working out...it feels like you are dancing and partying!  Having fun and burning calories at the same time?  It doesn't get much better than that!
  • SHOES and FOOT CARE!  Best shoes to wear are court shoes or aerobic shoes.  Wear shoes that do not have a lot of tread at the bottom and are meant for medial/lateral/twisting motion.  Running shoes and some cross training shoes are not ideal because of the tread and also they are meant more for forward motion.  Jazz sneakers are fine too.  Any old shoe where the bottom is worn out is good so you can twist and turn easily.  You can add an athletic insert to the inside of the shoes for more cushion and support as well.

Zumba is all about having FUN and working out at the same time.
